Hanging up his tack after a career as a jockey, George Oros Sr. opened up a tack store and began what would become a thriving family business.

George, later joined by his brother John, served Chicago ’s thoroughbred horsemen for over thirty years before handing the reins over to his son, George Jr, otherwise known as Buzz.

Today Oros Bros. Inc. have two Chicago area locations, a racetrack store that sets up shop at Arlington Park in the spring and summer and Hawthorne Racetrack in the fall and winter, and Oros Saddlery, an upscale riding store that caters to the needs of the English riding community of the western suburbs.

Buzz and his wife, Dori opened Oros Saddlery in 2000. The shop has since grown into a well-established enterprise that focuses on the hunter/jumper, dressage and eventing disciplines. Not only will you find a wide array of health and grooming supplies, leather goods, and riding clothing, but we also offer custom services such as Dehner and Vogel boots, Triple Crown and Integrity blankets and coolers, and Charles Pinnell Custom Chaps. Our saddlefitter is available at your convenience for questions or fittings, and also handles our customer’s repair needs.
